Golden Rescue

is a mixed-media work from the The Journey collection and marks the starting point of the series.

Eight gold-coloured sculptural vessels emerge from a deep black, textured surface. Their differing positions and orientations create movement without revealing a single shared direction.

The golden surfaces respond directly to the light, changing in intensity and spatial presence. At the same time, the sculptural forms cast shadows across the dark background, shifting the relationship between surface, movement and depth depending on the light and viewing angle.

Golden Rescue explores the ambivalence of rescue, belonging and externally imposed direction.

The work draws attention to these invisible structures – to the tension between the promise of freedom and the orders within which movement becomes possible at all.

As the first work in The Journey, Golden Rescue introduces a central idea of the series: how larger social and societal forces can shape perception and movement, create orientation and trace out possible paths – even where, from the outside, everything appears open.
