Silver Lining
is a mixed-media work from the The Journey collection and continues the narrative begun with Golden Rescue.
Five silver-toned sculptural vessels emerge from a deep blue, subtly shifting surface.
Their differing orientations create a sense of movement without suggesting a single, defined direction.
The metallic surfaces of the vessels respond to changing light, altering their appearance depending on the viewing angle. At the same time, their sculptural forms create reflections and shadows across the blue surface, allowing the perception of the work to shift in relation to its surroundings.
The Journey explores navigation within larger forces and currents that act upon movement and perception from the outside. Established orders, collective expectations and unseen dynamics can determine, shift or obscure direction. Inner perception encounters external images and forces that may intensify, conflict or alter a course. Silver Lining reflects this relationship as an open state between orientation and displacement, between what gives direction and what alters it.
